What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
Colon hydrotherapy aka Colonic irrigation / colonics is an effective, safe and gentle method of cleaning the colon (large intestine), in order to eliminate accumulated waste and toxins from the bowel. Filtered water is gently introduced into the colon via gravity, at a slow, safe pressure. This procedure usually lasts 40 – 50 minutes and the client will generally feel revitalized and clear headed after their treatment.

Why do I need colonics?
The benefits of colon hydrotherapy are enormous. Colon hydrotherapy is a way to correct IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), bloating, gas and eliminate constipation. It helps to re-tone and reshape the colon while gaining more energy and a flatter stomach. Our diets are often high in mucus forming foods, and processed foods which can create layers of sticky plaque and faecal matter on the colon walls. These release toxins which can be reabsorbed back into the bloodstream causing a wide range of different health problems.
What happens during a treatment?
First of all there is a brief consult where your therapist will take down any relevant data regarding your health and medical history. Then a short Iridology assessment is performed to assess your general health, and also the health of your colon. Of particular interest are the toxicity levels, and the shape and tone of the colon.
You will be asked to change into a gown, then lie down on the Colonic Table ready for treatment. Your therapist will gently insert the speculum, then it’s just a matter of relaxing, and letting the water do its work.
What are colonics good for?
Fatigue, Flatulence, Irritability, Protruding abdomen, bad breath, body odour, weight problems, brittle hair and nails, depression, headaches, skin problems, swelling legs, high blood pressure, lower back pain and abdominal tenderness or discomfort can all be helped by colonic hydrotherapy.
Are colonics safe?
Yes. As a trained therapist-conducted treatment, the insertion is in expert hands, the filtered water is at low pressure and there is no danger of perforation. Equipment used is disposable for optimum hygiene standards. Although some of friendly bacteria are expelled during treatment, they quickly breed back up to strength, and the environment after treatment is usually better than before, thus leading to a better balance.
